Chickpeas or garbanzos?  Either way, many are more familiar with them as a wrinkly pale pulse available in cans, dried in bags or perhaps in hummus with crisps or as an ingredient in curry as they are very popular in Asian cuisine.  They can be ground to make gram flour which does not contain gluten or mixed with water as an egg replacement, so excellent for those with allergies.  They are even used as an ingredient in facial exfoliant!  Our customers are often surprised that we offer them for growing in the garden as they can be eaten fresh and green with a remarkable taste.  The plants are pretty and chickpeas contain many nutrients and carbohydrates, so what is the excuse? Growing Tomatoes from Seed This Year? 0

'Horus' is a very productive variety of tomato.

Each year, we grow many different varieties of tomatoes in the polytunnel.  Other types of tomato plant take pride of place on the patio!  No wonder really, as there are so many tomato varieties available for different culinary uses.  The whole family likes a wide choice of tomatoes, so it is hard to resist sowing lots of different tomato seeds!
